Implementation of the project

 

The project is working in Leh district (Nubra, Sham, Chang Tang, Leh area), in Kargil district (Zanskar, Panikar, Sanku, Kargil), and in Jammu and Kashmir state. It is also implemented in Lahaul and Spiti district, and in Himachal Pradesh state, where conditions are similar to the ladakhi ones.

 

It is carried out by the NGOs : GERES, BORDA, LNP, LEDeG, LEHO, SKARCHEN and STAG.

 

The local NGOs are organized into resource NGOs and proximity NGOs :

• a resource NGO, experienced and skilled for an activity, elaborates a methodology and advises other NGOs.
• a proximity NGO, less technically experienced, but who has built trustful relationship with community in its working area, take advantage of resource NGO’s expertise to implement the project.

GERES and BORDA, the European NGOs, coordinate the network and elaborate with the resource NGOs the methodology of implementation.
